postheadericon Former NZ Bodybuilder Sentenced for Illegal Importation of Anabolic Steroids

Illegal importation of anabolic steroids by a bodybuilder sent him to jail After 2 years of hearing the case of a former bodybuilder involved in the illegal importation and sale of anabolic steroids, the Auckland District Court finally made a decision. Mark William Rainbow, 43, was sentenced for 5 years in prison for his illegal activities. The former bodybuilder admitted to the charges specifically the violation of the Medicine Act of 1981. The charges include importing, possessing and supplying prescription and other medicines.

Rainbow was caught by the authorities in May of 2008. He imported anabolic steroids from Thailand and concealed it in bottles marked with “Gay Lube Oil.” It was later found out that the substance is a performance enhancing drug. He then repacked these substances and sold to local clients. Rainbow labeled these steroids through the use of a trade name SSIS Pharmaceuticals.

Medsafe was concerned on the practice of repacking steroids because it may put the consumers at greater health risk. Since the products did not pass any quality control and did not comply with pharmaceutical standards, the steroids sold by Rainbow can be considered harmful. “The outcome of this prosecution should serve as a warning that offenses of this nature that posed a high risk to other will be dealt with to the full extent of the law,” Derek Fitzgerald of Medsafe told the media. Rainbow competed in IFBB and owns a gym.

postheadericon The Trouble With Fat-Burner Pills

Temporarily entering the world of insomniacs one night, I picked up the TV remote to see what those restless souls watched while most of us are off in dreamland. Between reruns of comedies on Nick at Nite and endless forecasts on the Weather Channel, I was captivated by a commercial hawking supplements to “boost your metabolism and burn away the fat.” Astonished by the claims, I logged on to the Internet and began investigating.

It turns out such supplements are as prolific as an insomniac’s sheep, with names like Liquid Clenbutrx, MD6, Metabolic Complete, Hydroxycut, Xenadrine RFA-1 and Stacker 3, to mention just a few. Some are available as liquids; others come in large, multicolored pills. But generally they promise the same thing: by speeding up your metabolism, they can reduce your fat, a claim I could not substantiate even after hours online and calls to several manufacturers.

postheadericon Muscle Repair Supplements

An important part of healthy body building and regular exercise is muscle repair. Giving your muscles the proper time and nutrition to rest and repair is just as important as the lifting techniques and exercise routine used, if not more so. In addition to proper rest and healthy foods, certain safe muscle repair supplements can help one greatly increase muscle mass and strength in a short amount of time.

Mechanism of Muscle Growth

Many people mistakenly believe that muscle grow during exercise. In fact, completely the opposite is true. Rigorous exercise, especially resistance training (lifting weights) that take the targeted muscles to fatigue, produces minor tears in the muscles. The ‘pump’ and increase sized immediately following a workout is the result of raised blood flow to the muscle group. Once the muscles reach ‘rest’ phase, the tears are repaired and extra muscle tissue is added to help prevent such tears next time. It is during this rest phase that most of the muscle growth happens.
